NEED: Capital for raising breading cows and pigs

AMOUNT: US$500

Nguyen Thi Chau is 17 and living with her family in Quang Ngai. However, she doesn’t look like any other normal teenager due to her congenital mobility disability. Not only Chau, but her youngest sister, Nguyen Thi Chung, who is only 8 suffers from the same disability. Chau’s other 2 sisters are 19 and 14, too young to work and earn money for their family. Therefore, all the burden lays on the shoulder of their 46-year-old father and 42-year-old mother.

Her mobility disability has taken away Chau’s chance to have a normal life. She couldn’t sit or crawl until she was 9. Now, she can only lie and stand. She has to depend entirely on her parents for help with daily activities since she’s unable to self-serve.  Chau wished to go to school like other kids when she was small. She started her schooling at 10. The disabled girl made a great effort to go to school everyday. Seeing that made her parents feel happy. Unfortunately, due to her bad health condition, she always fell and got a lot of injuries, which worried her parents so much. Finally, they had to make a hard and heart-breaking decision: Chau must stop going to school. Chau dropped out of school at grade 4. Since then, she always stays at home with her youngest sister who is also disabled. Both of Chau’s parents are farmers. Their meager income from rice farming isn’t enough to provide for their children adequately. They’ll never be able to afford the expense of treatment for Chau and her little sister’s disability.

Chau’s parents wish to have 500 USD to invest in cow breeding to improve the family economic situation. With support from kind-hearted donors, the family’s life will be better and the two girls will have a chance to be cured and have a normal life. Maybe Nguyen Thi Chung will be lucky enough to be able to go to school and finish her studies without having to drop out like her sister, Chau. Your donation will open the door for them to a much brighter future
