Vang A Linh is a 45 year old man who has a mobility disability. Linh’s family includes his 41 year old wife and his two children. They live in a 15m2 thatched cottage in Lai Chau.
Linh wans’t always disabled. He used to be healthy, but since he was about fifteen years old, an unknown disease has paralysed his legs. He can meet his needs like bathing, eating and drinking without other's assistance, but can hardly work. His wife has to do all the hard work and provide for the family. As a farmer, she can only earn 30 USD a month. The family also receive 12 USD of financial aid a month from the community. With such a low income, they are always short of money. They can’t afford to have hygienic water and have to use stream water for cleaning and cooking. Their house is in a very bad condition.
All Linh wishes for is the ability to work to provide for his family. Despite his disability, he can do some light pieces of work. However, he does not have money to invest. Your donation can make his small wish come true. He wants to raise a block of chickens, so he needs about USD185 to buy 100 chickens and foods for them. With this, he can share the burden with his wife and provide better food and clothing for his children. He has also received some support from the authority to rebuild his house, but that sum of money is not enough. The house needs about USD350 more to be finished.
