Deo Thi Bot is a 39 year old woman with disabilities in Lai Chau. She has blindness and a mobility disability. She is being taken care of by her brother’s family. Her brother is 46 years old, and his wife is 44 years old. Not only do they have to take care of their own kids but they also have to take care of their disabled sister.
Bot’s disabilities are congenital. She is only able to serve herself, and she can’t work to provide for herself. She has to depend on her brother’s family who are also very poor. Her brother and sister in law are both farmers so their income is very unstable. Bot always feels a complex about her situation and doesn’t want to be such a burden to her brother. With her insufficient health, there’s nothing she can do to change that.
